Terms and conditions of Samsung Odyssey Masters tournament

 

  1. Tournament structure

1.1. How to participate 

1.1.1. Where to register 

The application can be made on the website samsungodysseymasters.com via the application form. 

1.1.2. Application deadlines and acceptance of official rules 

To participate in the Competition, it is necessary for the captain of the team to register with the following information: Team name, Team TAG (2-4 letters), Player 1 PUBG name, Player 1 Discord username, Player 1 Country, Player 2 PUBG name, Player 2 Discord username, Player 2 Country, Player 3 PUBG name, Player 3 Discord username, Player 3 Country, Player 4 PUBG name, Player 4 Discord username and Player 4 Country. 

At the end of the application form, the team captain must mark the field next to which it says "I accept Terms and Conditions" in order for the application to be received. 

The Competition Rules and the Terms and Conditions of the Tournament must be read and accepted in order for the entry to be considered valid for participation in the Competition. 

The application can be made in the period from November 4, 2021 to November 14, 2021. 

At the end of the registration period, all teams that have filled in the application form correctly will be invited to participate in the scrim matches. 

These Terms and Conditions of the Tournament may be updated during the Competition as necessary to add greater clarity, correct errors, comply with changes in applicable law or to resolve issues arising after the first publication of the Rules. The goal of any updates will be to ensure fair competition for all competitors. For all possible changes to the rules, the participants of this Competition will be notified on the official Discord channel of the Competition. 

1.1.3. Age condition 

To participate in the Competition, Competitors must be 16 or older at the time of registration for the Competition. 

The Organizer of the Competition reserves the right to request an identity document of each Competitor in order to confirm the year or date of birth of the same. Satisfaction of any such evidence or documentation will be determined by the Organizer at its discretion (document such as: passport, driver's license, ID card or work visa with a photo, name and date of birth). 

1.1.4. Condition of residence 

Registered competitor must be from one of the following countries: 

  • Croatia 
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina 
  • Serbia 
  • Slovenia 
  • Montenegro 
  • Albania 
  • Kosovo 
  • Northern Macedonia 
  • Czech Republic 
  • Slovakia 
  • Hungary and 
  • Poland

Each team has the right to register one player from the EU region, regardless of whether the player is part of the main team or a substitute. The exception is the players of the CIS region, for which the administrators will decide individually. Players from the following regions are not allowed to play within this Competition: 

  • NA region (North America region) 
  • SA region (South America region) 
  • MEA region (Middle East-Asia region) 
  • APAC region (Asia-Pacific region) and 
  • OCE region (Oceania region) 

The team captain must be a player on the list of countries for which the competition is conducted. A player from the EU region except from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia cannot be the team captain.  

The organizer of the competition reserves the right to request an identity document of each Competitor in order to confirm his residence. Satisfaction of any such evidence or documentation will be determined by the Organizer at its discretion (document such as: passport, driver's license, identity card or work visa with a photo, name and physical address in the eligible country).  

1.1.5. Player registration and accounts 

In the period after the applications for participation in the Competition, the Competitor is obliged to additionally provide: 

  • Valid PUBG account 
  • Valid Steam account

The player is only allowed to play on his own Steam account. The “Account sharing” option on Steam is not allowed and may result in the penalty specified under point 3.3. 

A PUBG account is required so that the player can be called within the game and so that it can be verified that he / she is the person who is actually playing. 

The team name and logo must not be offensive, and must not contain national or religious characteristics. 

Player names must not contain offensive messages. If a player independently knows that his name contains offensive content on any bases, the player has the right to change the name before the Competition and provide administrators with information on changing his name within the video game. 

1.2 Tournament phases 

Samsung Odyssey Masters competition is divided into 4 phases: 

  1. Application phase 
  1. Scrim days 
  1. Qualifications 
  1. Finals 

1.2.1. Registration 

Competitors register for the Tournament on the samsungodysseymasters.com website by entering the required information in the form. 

1.2.2. Scrims week 

In the first week of the Competition, the teams that have correctly filled in the application  form for participation in the Competition will be placed in groups during the scrim days. This stage of the competition is played in 4 consecutive matches according to the following match schedule: Erangel, Erangel, Miramar, Miramar. 

At the end of this phase of the Competition, the 48 best teams advance to the next phase according to the Ranking points and leaderboard, followed by the qualification phase. 

1.2.3. Qualifiers 

At the end of the scrim days, 48 best teams will be divided into 3 qualification groups.  In total qualifications will be divided into 4 rounds. The first three rounds are open, while the fourth, also the last round, is closed. Each qualification group will play a total of 10 matches (5 per day), according to the following match schedule:  

  • First day: Erangel, Erangel, Erangel, Miramar, Miramar. 
  • Second day: Miramar, Miramar, Miramar, Erangel, Erangel

Teams will be ranked according to the Ranking points and leaderboard. 

1.2.4. Finals 

The last phase of the competition (Finals) will be played across 2 days, where 16 teams will participate in the finals. The teams will play a total of 12 matches in the finals (6 per day), according to the following match schedule:  

  • First day: Erangel, Erangel, Erangel, Miramar, Miramar, Miramar 
  • Second day: Miramar, Miramar, Miramar, Erangel, Erangel, Erangel

Teams will be ranked according to the Ranking points and leaderboard. 

1.3. Tournament rules 

1.3.1 Regular tournament rules 

Rules applicable to the competition:[Text Wrapping Break] 

  • It is very important to follow the timeline for each game during the tournament. All information for each game is subject to change so it’s every player’s responsibility to update himself on the Good Game Global Discord server before the tournament/round/match or game starts regarding any changes. 
  • If a team is missing from the lobby when it is time to start the game it will be started without them if the lobby host does not say otherwise. 
  • All matches will be played back to back so the teams have to join the new game lobby as soon as possible. 
  • It is the responsibility of each team captain to read Discord for important messages regarding the lobby they are assigned to at all times, especially in the early part of each new game if a server restart needs to be done. 

1.2.1.2. Additional tournament rules 

Additional rules that will be used in all the matches: 

  • Competitors should not harass, send messages or in any way try to distract or direct others to distract the opponent. 
  • Competitors should not manipulate the internet connection to negatively affect their connectivity, their opponent’s connectivity, or the entire game.

1.4. Timeline 

Samsung Odyssey Masters will be played on next dates: 

  • Scrim days: in the period from 20.11. until 24.11.2021. (exact dates will be announced before the start of scrims) 
  • 1st qualification group: 28.11. and 29.11.2021. at 7:00 p.m. CEST 
  • 2nd qualification group: 4.12. and 5.12.2021. at 7:00 p.m. CEST 
  • 3rd qualification group: 6.12. and 7.12.2021. at 7:00 p.m. CEST 
  • Relegation group: 15.12. and 16.12.2021. at 7:00 p.m. CEST 
  • Finals: 20.12. and 21.12.2021. at 7:00 p.m. CEST 

 

  1. Game rules

2.1. Roster 

Team rosters must consist of at least the minimum number of players required to participate in a match. Every team can have a maximum of 2 substitutes. Teams are only allowed to play with players on their roster with a registered game account. Playing with different players and/or illegal ringers will result in punishment. The team must play with their registered roster of 4 players + substitutes for the duration of scrims, qualifiers and finals. A player is only allowed to compete for one team at the time in this tournament. 

2.2. Game version 

All players must install the newest version of the game in order to participate in the Samsung Odyssey Masters Tournament. Updates must be installed before the game starts, so delays will be at a minimum. 

2.3. Technical rules 

2.3.1. Technical problems 

All players are responsible for their own technical issues both hardware and network. Matches won’t be restarted just because of someone’s disconnect and/or their game crashes. 

If a player disconnects you are allowed to reconnect. 

In a case where problems are affecting a huge amount of the players in the game, by the game or by Steam it will be decided by the admin/admin team on how to handle it. 

If an organization experiences technical difficulties, matches can be restarted or postponed. Competitors will be notified in a timely manner on the official Discord server of the Competition of possible problems. 

2.3.2. Game server restart 

These are the guidelines regarding a game server restart while the game is in the starting process: 

  • More than 10% of the players in the lobby are not  making it into the game. 
  • If all players are marked as “#unknown” 
  • Two full teams or more of two players in the lobby not making it into the game. 
  • If the game is being broadcasted and the caster or observer in the lobby does not make it into the game. 
  • If the lobby host doesn’t make it into the game.

All the reasons above can be overruled by the lobby host if he sees fit for the situation in question. If a game server crashes mid game the decision will be made by the lobby host on a case-by-case basis if the game should be replayed or not. 

2.3.3. Replay and match materials 

All players must have the replay function enabled in-game when you compete in this tournament. All replays and screenshots from the matches need to be saved for 14 days from the date the tournament ended. The admin team has the right to request the replay or screenshot at any time within these 14 days. 

How to find your replays: press “Windows Key + R” and type “%localappdata%\TslGame\Saved\Demos”. 

2.3.4. In-game rules 

Under no circumstances will the game be paused during an ongoing round. 

If a player disconnects while a game is being played and can’t reconnect he needs to sit out that game. 

2.4. Cheats and bug abuse 

2.4.1. Cheats 

All cheats are completely forbidden to use under any circumstance while playing at this tournament. Using any cheats will result in bans and disqualifications. Some examples of these cheats are: 

  • ESP 
  • Radar hacks 
  • Wallhacks 
  • Speedhacks 
  • Aimhacks 
  • Hitbox manipulation 
  • Teleportation 
  • The usage of bug to gain an advantage versus your opponents 
  • Game file editing to remove grass or other aspects from the game 
  • All 3rd party software or tools that are not allowed by the game publisher and that can give an unfair advantage to a player or team are classed as cheating and are not allowed. Examples of software that are not allowed is ReShade, SweetFX and VibranceGUI. 

If a team uses a player that has an active ban by PUBG the team will be disqualified from the tournament. 

2.5. Tournament format 

2.5.1. Custom match settings 

Every Match played during this Tournament will use Esports Mode with the following Match Settings. All settings shall remain default unless explicitly stated below. These rules are also a reflection of the official rules for PUBG: Battlegrounds tournaments, which can be found at this link 2021 Global Rules 

Administration of this Competition may make temporary adjustments to Custom Match Settings in order to help mitigate the impact of any in-game bug.  

2.6. Map pick 

All games are to be played on either the Erangel or Miramar map with a weather setting of “Sunny”. Teams do not pick or ban maps or weather types.

2.8. Ranking points 

A Team’s Total Points is the sum of all Match Points accumulated during a set period of time. Each kill is worth 1 point. Placement Points are awarded to Teams based on their finishing position at the end of each Match. Teams will accumulate Placement Points based on the following table:

  1. Communication & Support

3.1. Admins 

All participants must adhere to the decisions and rules of the tournament organizers, admins, and referees. All decisions are final, except in cases where the option to appeal is clearly stated. Conversations, either verbal or written, between organizers, admins or referees, and participants are confidential. Publicly posting or sharing these conversations with outside parties is strictly forbidden, unless permission is obtained.  

Competitors or teams can at any time contact one of the Competition Administrators on the official Discord server of the Competition. 

3.2. Communication channel 

Official communication channel of this tournament is the Good Game Global Discord server. After getting into the server, one of the Tournament Admins will give you a role of your team. With that role you will be able to see a part of the server only available to the Competitors of this Tournament.  

In order for a team to participate in the Tournament, all the players of a Team need to enter the official Discord server and they need to have the role of their team. 

3.3. The process of dispute during the competition 

Any irregularities must be reported by the Competitor to the administrators at the official Discord server of the Competition at the time of the tournament. Administrators will take the necessary action depending on the irregularity. In the event of any dispute, Competitors should be prepared to submit evidence of irregularity to the Competition Administrator. 

3.4. Disputes after matches during the competition 

It will be the hardest to make a decision about a dispute after the game, and it is recommended to initiate any problems during the game and not after the game. 

The decision of the administrator is final and binding. 

3.5. Tournament results 

The results of the played matches will be updated on Twire.gg platform, and they will be shown on the live stream. Update of the results can take up to 10 minutes after the match is done. 

3.6. Streaming 

Personal streaming by players is always allowed with a required delay of 10 minutes. The main broadcast will have a delay of 10 minutes. 

Official English live streams will be done through Good Game Global Youtube and Good Game Global Twitch streaming platforms. 

3.7. Code of conduct 

The Code of Conduct below applies to all Competitors in the Competition at all levels of the Competition, unless otherwise specified. The Organizer reserves the right to impose penalties or disqualify any Competitor who violates this Code of Conduct, in its sole discretion. 

3.7.1. General Competitor behaviour 

Competitors must behave in a reasonable manner, and treat spectators, journalists, competition administrators and other Competitors appropriately and with respect. These requirements apply to both offline and network interactions, including behavior on social networks and live broadcasts. All Competitors are expected to all adhere to these sporting standards, including when not competing in competitions organized by the Organizer. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Violation of any applicable law, rules or regulations, as determined by the Organizer in its sole discretion; 
  • Offering gifts, prizes or bribes to Competitors, Organizers, Administrators or third parties involved in the Competition; 
  • Use of any software or programs that damage, interfere with, or disrupt the Competitor's or someone else's computer or property; 
  • Any external software designed to give the Competitor an unfair advantage; 
  • Interfering with or terminating the participation of another Competitor in the Competition; 
  • Harassment, threats, harassment, participation in hate speech, repeated sending of unsolicited messages or giving personal attacks or statements about race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc .; 
  • Posting, uploading or distributing content or organizing / participating in any activity, group or guild that the Organizer (acting reasonably and objectively) determines is inappropriate, violent, harassing, obscene, defamatory, threatening, obscene, sexually explicit, infringes copyright , violates privacy, vulgar, offensive, obscene or illegal; 
  • Use of technical errors within the game, codes, undocumented features, design errors or bugs in the Contest; 
  • Engaging in any other activity that significantly disrupts the peaceful, and fair play environment of the Competition; and 
  • Promoting, encouraging or participating in any prohibited activity described above. 

3.7.2. Teaming 

Teaming is defined as any agreement between two or more Competitors or Teams to put another Competitor(s) or Team(s) in the Competition at a disadvantage. Teaming between the Competitors or Teams is strictly prohibited. All Competitors that the Organizer determines at any time of the Competition to participate in the collusion will be removed from the Competition and will be forced to return any fees and / or prizes received from the Competition. 

3.7.3. Team sponsorships 

Teams may have sponsors during the Competition. However, advertising and sponsorships are limited to exclude certain categories and activities. If the sponsor falls within one of the categories below, then the sponsor will not be able to be displayed by the Competitor or Team during the Competition. All Team sponsorships must be approved in advance by the Organizer prior to the competition. Also, the Organizer reserves the right to update this non-exclusive list of prohibited sponsors: 

  • Gambling or sites that offer gambling opportunities 
  • Alcohol, tobacco and opiates 
  • Firearms or any type of weapon 
  • Pornographic material or adult material 
  • Products or services of direct competitors of PUBG, Krafton, Organizers, Samsung, their partners and other subsidiaries.

Violence or inappropriate behavior, including any use of harassment, negative or obscene words will not be tolerated and will also form the basis for disciplinary action. 

The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, suspend and / or change the Competition, or any part thereof, at any time, if any fraud, technical error or any other factor violates the integrity or proper functioning of the Competition, as determined by the Organizer at its discretion. 

The Organizer also has the right to publicly announce the penalties imposed on the Competitors, and such Competitors hereby waive any right against the Competition and the Organizer and any of their affiliates. 

The Organizer has the right to disqualify any Competitor or Team that it finds to interfere in the work of the Competition or to act in violation of these Official Rules. 

Any attempt by any person to intentionally violate the legitimate action of the Competition may constitute a violation of criminal and civil law, and if such an attempt occurs, the Organizer reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies (including attorneys' fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

 

By participating in the Competition, the Competitors agree to be bound by these Rules and decisions of the officers and administrators of the Competition.
